Welcome back everyone!!! It's a bittersweet time as summer comes to an end, and a new school year begins. Tuesdays are big days in the publishing world. It's become the industry standard for popular releases to be available in stores starting on a Tuesday. Therefore, the JES Media Center will also post new additions to the library on Tuesdays. So, without further adieu...

What's new this week

New Picture Book:

Llama Llama Misses Mama by Anna Dewdney. This is a new installment in the popular Llama Llama series. It's a great book for the back-to-school season, because is deals with those sometimes scary first days of school and the feelings that go along with adjusting and making new friends.

"It's Llama Llama's first day of preschool! And Llama Llama's mama makes sure he's ready. They meet the teachers. See the other children. Look at all the books and games. But then it's time for Mama to leave. And suddenly Llama Llama isn't so excited anymore. Will Mama Llama come back? Of course she will. But before she does, the other children show Llama Llama how much fun school can be!" -Image and blurb from llamallamabook.com

New Chapter Book:

Dear Hank Williams by Kimerly Willis Holt. This is a great read set in Louisiana by a Southern author told entirely through letters. A Junior Library Guild Selection.

"It’s 1948 in Rippling Creek, Louisiana, and Tate P. Ellerbee’s new teacher has just given her class an assignment—learning the art of letter-writing. Luckily, Tate has the perfect pen pal in mind: Hank Williams, a country music singer whose star has just begun to rise. Tate, along with her great-aunt and great-uncle, listens to him on the radio every Saturday night, and Tate just knows that she and Hank are kindred spirits." -image and blurb from kimberlywillisholt.com
