Barnes and Noble Membership

I don't know how many of you have a membership at Barnes and Noble, but I have had one for years, and I think that I get more than my money's worth out of my membership. Membership is $25 for the year, and you'll save money every time you shop at a Barnes and Noble store or from their website. You'll get 40% off hardcover bestsellers and 10% off almost everything else. You get free Express shipping on purchases from their website with delivery in 1-3 business days. There's no minimum purchase for the free shipping either. I really hate paying for shipping! In addition there are member-exclusive offers, and you'll get special savings offers through email and snail mail all throughout the year. You'll get over $50 in coupons when you sign up too. I even get a discount on my latte that I really have to have to shop you know.

Well, in addition to their regular membership, Barnes and Noble also offers an Educator Program.

How do you sign up...

Enrollment is available in-store only. You can sign up at any Barnes & Noble store. There is a copy of the application form on the B & N website, but you can also get the form in the store. Fill the form out, and take it to the B & N store of your choice. You'll need to bring a valid school ID or a pay stub to confirm employment at a school or eligible institution. If the school ID or other proof of employment provided does not contain a photo, a valid government-issued ID will be required in addition. I just took my school ID, my driver's license, and a recent pay stub just to cover all of my bases. You can use your educator discount right away!

Educator Appreciation Days

In addition to your everyday savings, you'll be able to take part in what's known as Educator Appreciation Days. There is going to be a Special Educator Event at Barnes and Noble in Florence this coming Saturday at 9:00am. There will be special discounts, giveaways, and other events for educators. The Pee Dee International Reading Association will be participating on Tuesday October 13 in a celebration of local educators. Educator Appreciation Days will run from October 10 through October 18 at the Florence location.

Remember that email we got on Tuesday about Distinguished Reading Teachers? Gooo Mrs. Allison!!! Woot Woot!!! Well, four of CCSD's great reading teachers will have displays up at Barnes and Noble in Florence on October 13 from 4:00-6:00. This is a great time to sign up for the Educator Program and start using that discount!
